"Jail Library - These are things I find abandoned in
books or stuffed on the book cart at the
jail where I
volunteer.
I've thought long and hard about privacy, and asked jail staff, a law
librarian, and others if sharing these was OK. The concensus was yes,
as long as no identities are revealed.
We don't keep track of who borrows what books, so finding the creators
of these items would be as hard (if not harder) than finding the
creator of a doodle on a napkin in a public trash can. (That said, if a former patron recognized something they did, I'd take down the post and give back the original.)"
Failing Reading Scores and Building Prison Cells is Big Busine$$
In California if the child isn't reading on 4th grade level when tested they will plan to budget building another jail cell.
Lot's of States do this besides California.
