GRANT OPPORTUNITY: DONORSCHOOSE.ORG
DonorsChoose is a nonprofit website that provides students with the
books, technology, and supplies that they need to learn.  At
DonorsChoose.org, public school educators propose ideas for needed
resources, such as: "Magical Math Centers" ($200) or "Big Book Bonanza!"
($400). Individuals around the nation can search student projects by
areas of interest, learn about classroom needs, and choose to fund the
project ideas they find most compelling. Applying is easy -- make sure
your classroom is next!

1. Go to www.donorschoose.org and click on "submit a proposal" to
register. Front-line educators at public schools (teachers, librarians,
coaches, guidance counselors etc.) are invited to sign up.
2. Identify the specific resources you want and answer some brief
questions about your project.
2. Write a brief project description (approximately 400 words)
describing the proposed project and how students will benefit.  Tell
your story and speak from the heart!
4. Watch your idea be funded and come to life!

DonorsChoose.org works! Since its founding by a teacher in the Bronx,
DonorsChoose.org has provided over $15 million of educational resources
-- from beakers to books, music to maps, computers to crayons to cleats
-- to schools across the country. There's no cost to teachers or schools
to participate. Frequently asked questions for teachers can be found at
www.donorschoose.org/teachers
