A Leader of $100-Laptop Project, Walter Bender, Resigns This week Walter Bender, a top executive at One Laptop Per Child, a nonprofit group working to provide low-cost laptops to children in developing nations, announced his resignation. The move set off plenty of speculation by bloggers about what that means for the project, which originated at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Media Lab, where Mr. Bender once served as director.
