Jesse Jackson is the old generation. He is jealous. He wanted to be prestident, no one wanted him. Barack is the New Generation. He wants people to handle their problems and stop blaming their problems on everything else, but take responsibility for themselves.

New Direction:
Barack Obama sets a new bar for "normal" he expects all levels of society to do what they can to make things better, not accept bad behavior, and bad habits that may be a neighborhood norm or family norm to go unchallenged. "The Norm" isn't a standard of what is ok just because you grow up around it and see it done this way. Barack wants to make it clear that everyone needs to handle their stuff to make life better.
