One of the First Schools in the Educational CyberPlayGround School Directory

Today, August 14, 2008, is the 14th anniversary of my school's
website. Arbor Heights Elementary School was one of the very first
schools with a web site. Here's what it looked like in 1994:

that graphic!

Welcome to Arbor Heights!
Seattle, Washington
It has been through many changes over the years, but it has always
been at the same location on the Internet – until about a week ago,
when it became a wiki.
It's actually kind of a hybrid right now, with a wiki layout on the
left, the old web page in the middle, and rss feeds on the right. It
will most definitely keep changing as more tools and options become
available. The old home page and all its content will remain in place,
but it will not be updated.
The biggest change here is in authorship. There is no webmaster any
more. Those shoes are filled by parents and staff members.
Realistically, most of the work will still be done by a few (power law
distribution), but it will be open to all members of our school
community. My dream is this; that with enough care, investment, and
pride – we can open the wiki to anyone. We are not there yet, but who
knows...
