Should libraries have corporate sponsors?

I'ts a Wing Wing situation.
The police department, using the sorts of arguments adduced here, gets a sponsorship from a local hot wings joint (think a thinly disguised Hooters). The results, played for laughs, do point out some of the dangers. the sponsor's phone number is placed on the patrol cars--leading to 911 calls ordering hotwings and local calls for police help. A "frivolous" way of showing some possible pitfalls.
The most important issue is whether the deals with Google in any way preclude the library from mounting its own ebooks, or making a deal with anyone else.
