Following
calls from the crew of The Pirate Bay earlier this week, it has been
confirmed that the audio of the upcoming trial will be streamed live on
the Internet. Swedish public broadcaster SVT will be in charge of the
operation, set to begin next Monday.
Earlier this week, Peter Sunde aka Brokep of The Pirate Bay called for a live webcast
of their upcoming trial to be available to the masses. “We want to show
how it works,” he said. “Cards on the table, everything should be
transparent!”
Just a couple of days later, Peter’s wish has been fulfilled.
According to Erik Fichtelius, head of Swedish public broadcaster SVT
24, the trial’s audio will be streamed by them, live on the Internet.
“It is a major trial with exciting witnesses and expert interviews,” he
told a Swedish journalists’ website.
The trial will be webcast live from SVT Direkt, starting Monday 16th February.
