(FUN - 1st day I got it )

I've been following this $100 laptop since the beginning.
It was exciting to get the computer - but that fun feeling is wearing off.

1)
From the Negreponte interview with brian lamb (Past November)

- all statements he made on the program -

<EXPECTATION>

Negreponte  told everyone what came with the computer - a crank and solar panels, & 1 year  t-mobile
I thought we were getting the exact same thing that the child in the other country was getting.

and From everything on the site
- I expected to get what the kid gets - they should be exactly the same.
That has been the brand /marketing message.

It is Give One Get One
NOT Give one Get a Different One, Not the same one, but an Incomplete one.

<BIG DISAPPOINTMENT>
We should not have to pay extra for solar panels, &  hand crank! It is expected and should be delivered.

<EXPECTATION>
2)
Negreponte said we would have wireless access for 1 year using t-mobile

I expected to be able to get access the same day my computer came - NOT TRUE

I THOUGHT IT WOULD WORK WITH MY WIRELESS - NOT TRUE

<BIG DISSAPOINTMENT>
a. naturally  i thought that meant in my house - it doesn't work with lynksis / encryption ect.
b. he did not say ONLY in certain spots - and check t-mobile site info
c. that i'd need to get a PIN number to get an account
d. my computer never came my pin #
e. Never got an email with my pin #

 <BIG DISAPPOINTMENT>

No one thought to send any email (after my order) that included the wiki support url  - where the FACTS are published.
That would have given me a chance to cancel the order within the 3 day period if I wanted to change my mind about this.
At least that would have been fair, but this feels like a sneaky sales ploy.

<EXPECTATION>

3)
I assumed that i could call t-mobile and tell them i had the computer and get an account - NO WAY

<BIG DISAPPOINTMENT>
a. no one at t-mobile knew what i was talking about when i called
b. no one was ready for this!
c. 5 people later and at least an hour total time on hold
d. finally told the url i needed  to open an account
e. BUT none of the numbers on my computer box were a pin#
f.  Never got an email  with a pin # to enter

<BIG DISAPPOINTMENT>
4) t-mobile told someone from the biz center would call me today
No one called and it's 2:00 PM eastern time

best,

Karen
