We need a show of force. BRING YOUR INSTRUMENTS. We want a visual display of artists everywhere in the Capitol demonstrating that the Performance Rights Act is important to musicians. Big corporate radio is the only medium that refuses to pay performers royalties for their hard work. You do the work, you should be fairly paid. Bring your instruments. Three hundred people die from cardiac arrest each day while students go to classes. Furthermore, about 900 people in the United States die from cardiac arrest every day, making it the largest cause of death among Americans. The best way to reduce the number of deaths cardiac arrest claims is to train more people how to give CPR and how to use Automatic External Defibrillators (AED). Teenagers comprise a large group of the population that are often uneducated on these skills. Preparing the next generation through CPR/AED training is quite literally a matter of life and death.

ALA Office for Intellectual Freedom At middle/high school level ... I just wish teachers would catch up with online, subscription tools. At the public library we often encounter the same misunderstanding that database resources aren't "books" or periodicals" even when in full text with complete citations. Digital Literacy Is Knowing How We Store What We Know. It is irresponsible for educational institutions not to teach new knowledge technologies such as Wikipedia." I've seen a lot of cases where people summarily dismiss any use of Wikipedia.

How does the delay work? Exactly as the AP and the EFF have claimed: TCP reset packets. These are generated from Comcast's network management hardware and tell the uploading computer that some sort of error has developed in the connection and that it needs to start over.

This is a HUGE victory for those of us who believe you're supposed to share knowledge not give it to publishers to horde. Harvard University’s Faculty of Arts and Sciences adopted a policy this evening that requires faculty members to allow the university to make their scholarly articles available free online.

The 87-page Consolidated Indigenous Shadow Report, which has been prepared with testimony from a number of individuals, covers issues such as: environmental racism, border injustices, the destruction of sacred places, violence against women, and most tellingly, the “overwhelming disparities in income, life expectancy, poverty and unemployment” in what can only be described as a system of Apartheid and forced assimilation “where Indigenous people are warehoused in poverty and neglect, their only option being to abandon their lands, families, languages and cultures to search for a better life.” Also learn about the Shadow Wolves.
